THE BAD NEWS
Every divorce is different, the circumstances are different and the people are different.
The one thing that is always the same is the suffering of the children.
The following statistics and websites help remind us all that
their suffering is not temporary but lifelong and
cripples their lives in ways we may not think of.

The child of divorce is six times as likely to suffer serious illness in childhood.

One out of three spends a lifetime in and out of drug dependency
programs, psychiatric treatment and or confinement.

They are 70% more likely to be suspended from school.

When the divorce occurs between the ages of 3 and 6 they never
recover academic proficiency.

They are nearly five times as likely to live in poverty all their lives.

They are three times as likely to be divorced themselves.

"Three out of four teenage suicides occur in households where a parent has been absent."

With the exception of the first link the following websites focus on research not recovery,
On Science not religion.
We include them to spotlight the harm suffered by the children of divorce,
and to motivate people to visit the Mom's pages, the Dad's pages, and especially the rebonding pages.
